She knows we spend a lot on food, buying organic, from CSAs, etc. And she is definitely in a situation where she doesn't have a lot to spend, but I shop at the thrift store and she buys really nice clothes (and goes on and on and on about how her stuff is so much nicer than mine). She just doesn't get that she *could* spend more on food, percentage wise, but she doesn't choose to do so. <br /><br /><br />There are a lot of people who really are suffering because of subsidies though.
